Welcome to Grade 2 Division 10!

If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to email me at emese_kadar@sd33.bc.ca

Please be sure to check the school website on a regular basis for events and for the monthly school newsletter http://sardis.sd33.bc.ca/.

Your child should read aloud to an adult everyday. Use the bookmarks "Stuck On A New Word?" and "Deepening Understanding Through Questioning". You can find these bookmarks in the File Attachment section below.

Spelling practice

Your child is responsible for writing the words down on Monday. Please look for them and for the sorting cards in your child's planner. Please see additional information below in the File Attachment section.

Math facts practice

Basic Facts - Practice addition and subtraction facts until they are "known by heart". Having basic math facts firmly in place will help your child be successful in Math as these are the building blocks for upcoming units throughout the year and many more years to come. This can be done by playing games, using apps, and even using flashcards.

Please read "Math Facts Parent Newsletter" attached

Skip Counting - Practice counting by 2s, 5s, and 10s up to 100, forwards and backwards. If your child is ready, they can get comfortable going up and over 100 and continuing the patterns.

Math Mental Strategies

Information & Announcements

Parking at Sardis

The attached information was requested by parents to clarify the NO STOPPING zones in our school parking lot.

We also have many signs, pylons and painted areas to help identify these zones.

The NO STOPPING zones along the street are clearly marked, and are there for everyone's safety.

Thank you for your cooperation and for driving carefully in and around our schools.
