What if I am going to be away for several days or more (for example, my family is going away)?

When students miss extended periods of school time, they cannot simply get a bunch of worksheets and book pages and hope to "keep up".  A lot more happens at school than what you see on a page.  However, if an extended absence cannot be avoided, the classroom teacher may not offer a replacement for what is happening in class.  Instead, we encourage you to get some extra practice on basic concepts using one of the links below.  We also encourage you to read (a lot) every day, practice basic math skills, and do a written journal (either a booklet, DVD, or online presentation) in which you write, draw and include photos of what you did while you were away.  The journal can also serve as a fun memento of your trip or event, and when you come back you can share it if you like!
